Comprehensive restoration of smile, function, and dental aesthetics

The patient presented with the following concerns:

dissatisfaction with the appearance of their teeth;

temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain.

This clinical case required a comprehensive approach involving oral rehabilitation, dental implant placement, and prosthetic treatment to restore both function and smile aesthetics.

Treatment process

Therapeutic stage An initial consultation, comprehensive diagnostics, and detailed treatment planning were carried out. To prepare for the rehabilitation process, complete oral sanitation was performed, including professional dental cleaning, cavity treatment, and root canal therapy.

Surgical stage A dental implant was placed in the area of tooth 36. Two months after implant placement, a temporary implant-supported crown was fabricated and fixed, restoring both aesthetics and function during the healing period.

Prosthetic Stage Six months later, digital impressions were taken, and the teeth were prepared for future prosthetic restorations. A wax-up try-in was performed to evaluate the future smile design and functional parameters. Following approval of the planned result, the final prosthetic restorations were fabricated. The treatment concluded with the try-in and permanent placement of crowns and veneers.

Result:

TMJ pain and discomfort were eliminated;
chewing function was restored;
the missing tooth was replaced with a dental implant;
the shape, color, and proportions of the teeth were enhanced;
a harmonious and natural-looking smile was achieved;
a stable functional and aesthetic outcome was obtained.
