Anti-stress dental treatment at DENTART

The essence of the Anti-stress concept is dental treatment in your sleep. The patient is put into a medically-induced sleep, which does not feel any different from ordinary sleep. After this sedation, the necessary dental procedures are carried out using local anaesthesia. This enables dental caries treatment, dentures, implants, professional cleaning, i.e. any manipulation that you require.

What is sedation?

Dental treatment in your sleep involves sedation. Literally, the term translates as soothing. Thus, medication is administered intravenously to ensure that the patient is relaxed and falls asleep. Unlike anaesthesia, sedation only has a sedative effect, while basic reflexes, including swallowing, coughing and other reflexes are maintained. It is a safer alternative to anaesthesia and avoids subsequent negative feelings, such as headaches or confusion.

Sedatives only relieve unnecessary stress and help to normalise blood pressure, which is particularly important for hypertensive patients who are anxious when they visit the dentist.

We guarantee maximum safety for sleeper dental treatment with us at DENTART. After sedation, the patient is under constant supervision. Specialists monitor the main indicators of vital activity, including pulse, saturation, blood pressure. A sleep-depth monitoring machine is used to ensure the precise dosage of the sedative. This rules out both overdose and premature awakening.

WHAT IS NITROUS OXIDE INHALATION ANALGESIA?

In addition to dental treatment under sleep sedation, our DENTART dental clinic in Kyiv uses light sedation with nitrous oxide. Professionals call this method inhalation analgesia, as the inert gas is inhaled by patients through a special mask (similar to an inhalation procedure).

Unlike medicinal sleep sedation, when using nitrous oxide, the patient remains conscious and can respond to the dentist's questions. The inert gas, administered together with oxygen, has a calming and relaxing effect, disperses fear, and minimizes pain sensations. As a result, the patient doesn't even notice the local anesthetic injection.

For light sedation, the patient is offered a special mask through which a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is delivered. From time to time, the doctor asks the patient if everything is alright, how they are feeling, etc.

Nitrous oxide in dentistry is offered to both young and adult patients who are extremely afraid of treatment or pain from local anesthetic injections. This anti-stress therapy method is also recommended when a large volume of procedures is necessary and for other indications, such as anxiety disorder, heightened gag reflex, etc.

Benefits of anti-stress treatment at DENTART clinic

  1. Maximum comfort. This is dental treatment without pain, fear, excessive worry or other discomfort.
  2. Security and fast recovery Sedation is not anesthesia. All body systems are working, not oppressed. After treatment, nothing bothers the patient, on the contrary, just as after a normal sleep, cheerfulness appears and fatigue goes away.
  3. Dental treatment in your sleep can reduce the number of visits to the clinic. And the doctor will be able to perform complex extractions or other procedures that without sedation would be uncomfortable and problematic for any patient, including those ones who have no fear of going to the dentist.
  4. Individualised approach. Our patients are counselled beforehand, and our doctors determine the indications and contraindications for sedation and carefully select the drugs and dosages.

Also, we at DENTART Clinic offer our patients STA computer anesthesia. It will ensure that the local anaesthetic is administered painlessly. Accordingly, without pain and discomfort, we can carry out treatment even without sedation. Computer anesthesia is recommended for children and adults who are afraid of injections and syringes.
