Comprehensive rehabilitation for multiple missing teeth and impaired chewing function

The patient presented with the following concerns:

aesthetic defects of the smile;
multiple missing teeth;
difficulty chewing food.

This clinical case required a comprehensive approach involving restorative, periodontal, surgical, and prosthetic treatment to eliminate sources of infection, replace missing teeth, and restore proper function of the stomatognathic system.

Treatment process

Therapeutic stage An initial consultation, comprehensive diagnostics, and individualized treatment planning were carried out. Professional dental cleaning was performed, and a periodontal chart was created as part of the preparatory phase. Tooth 13 was treated for chronic pulpitis. Chronic apical periodontitis of tooth 27 was also diagnosed, requiring subsequent surgical intervention.

Surgical stage Due to the poor prognosis of several teeth, teeth 15, 27, 28, and 38 were extracted. To restore the missing teeth, immediate implant placement was performed in the areas of teeth 12, 15, 17, and 22 following extraction, as well as in the areas of teeth 36 and 37 following the extraction of tooth 38. Additional implants were placed in the regions of teeth 24, 25, and 27 to support future prosthetic rehabilitation.

Prosthetic stage After completion of the osseointegration period, the teeth were prepared for future restorations. Digital impressions were taken, and the shade of the future restorations was selected. Based on the collected data, the prosthetic restorations were fabricated, tried in, and permanently fixed.
