What are the stages of a dental check-up?
1
Consultation and examination
The initial appointment is carried out by a dentist-therapist. He/she conducts a comprehensive review of the condition of the teeth and gums and explains the current situation.
2
Computed tomography (CT)
The three-dimensional image obtained thanks to the tomograph allows our dentists to see an accurate and informative picture of your jaws and teeth, make the correct diagnosis and choose the optimal treatment for you.
3
Diagnocat Decoding of a CT scan
In just 5-7 minutes, the Diagnocat artificial intelligence analyzes the images, detects even minor violations and generates a detailed report on the patient's dental system.
4
Professional oral hygiene
Although brushing at home helps remove plaque, only a professional cleaning by a periodontist can thoroughly clean your teeth and remove the hardened plaque (called tartar) that builds up on your teeth. Professional hygiene also provides deep cleaning above and below the gum line.
5
Hygiene lesson and individual selection of hygiene products
The periodontist will suggest additional instructions for you to follow at home, based on the results of your examination. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor for instructions on brushing your teeth or general questions about dental and gum care.
6
Treatment recommendations
If any oral health problems are found during an examination, your dentist will advise on the best way forward. This may include a referral to another oral health care professional, additional diagnostic tests or advice to return for restorative work (e.g. fillings and crowns) or additional oral care.
How often is it recommended to get a Check-up?
Most patients are recommended to have two visits to the dentist per year. During a typical check-up, patients are examined by both a periodontist and a therapeutic dentist.
The periodontist performs professional oral hygiene, explains dental care, and answers questions. The therapeutic dentist checks the cleaning performed by the periodontist, examines the gums and teeth, diagnoses any oral health problems, orders diagnostics (if necessary), and provides treatment recommendations.
Check-ups are important not only for professional hygiene but also for early detection of any problems.
