Teleradiograph (TRG)
A teleradiograph (TRG) is an overview image of the skull in frontal and lateral projection. This type of diagnosis is often used in dentistry as it allows you to identify dentoalveolar anomalies and plan orthodontic dental treatment. The procedure provides informative natural pictures with minimal distortion, which increases the diagnostic value of this examination.
In Kyiv you can have teleradiography in DENTART clinic. We use modern equipment providing detailed images of the skull and dentoalveolar system with minimal radiation doses.

When is a teleradiogram necessary?
At our clinic, TRG is usually recommended by orthodontists. Indications for this examination are:
- determination of the bite type and/or the teeth inclination assessment;
- observation of changes in periodontal tissues;
- detection of bone thickness;
- determination of the exact jaws location;
- TMJ (temporomandibular joint) diseases.
Beside the diagnostic purposes, TRG is also used to monitor the treatment effectiveness. Therefore, teleradiography may be needed before, during and at the end of treatment (e.g., when braces are worn to correct bite and alignment of teeth).
The procedure can even be carried on children of any age (but not more than once a year). The main contraindications include pregnancy. It is recommended to temporarily refuse this examination during such diseases as pneumothorax, bleeding, exacerbations of severe pathologies: you have to wait until the patient's condition improves.
