How often do i need to have my teeth cleaned by a dentist?
If you follow the basics of home hygiene carefully, a professional hygiene treatment once every six months is recommended. Those who like to drink coffee frequently, smoke or neglect basic oral care at home should have their teeth professionally cleaned every three months. Similarly, if you are undergoing orthodontic treatment, such as wearing braces or aligners, you should have a professional cleaning once every quarter.
Every three months, dental hygiene should also be maintained after treatment of inflammatory dental diseases.
Tartar removal with ultrasound
Plaque that builds between, under and under the teeth is also called tartar. The danger of this plaque is that it can lead to diseases such as dental caries and periodontitis.
For removal of dental calculus, we in DENTART in Kyiv use special ultrasound equipment, a scaler, which breaks down hard dental plaque due to the effect of ultrasound waves (vibrations), without compromising the integrity of the tooth enamel. Scaling is painless and uncomfortable, while the alternative methods of removing hard dental plaque, i.e. mechanical or chemical scaling, are much less uncomfortable.
Air flow cleaning
We remove soft dental plaque using the progressive Air Flow system. Here, a highly pressurised aerosol is sprayed onto the tooth surface through a special hand-piece and, besides the liquid and water, it contains a special cleaning powder. It does not damage the enamel, but removes plaque and also allows for 1 to 2 tone whitening, i.e. teeth get their natural shine due to the removal of pigmented deposits. Also, by brushing the teeth in this way, we polish them slightly, which delays the accumulation of new dental plaque.Professional whitening ZOOM4
The Zoom 4 method is the most advanced and safest way to whiten teeth. A special technology is used: a special enamel gel is put on the enamel, and the light from a special lamp penetrates into the deep layers of the tooth and removes stubborn and strong pigmentations. This procedure helps restore the natural whiteness of teeth, even for smokers or people whose age-related discolouration of enamel can occur.
At our clinic, we use a gum isolation using a liquid cofferdam, and the treatment is performed using a Philips ZOOM4 lamp and ZOOM or Beyond gels.
