How is zoom teeth whitening done?
Dutch ZOOM 4 whitening system is a high-tech procedure. It requires expertise and an individual approach to each patient. That is how our doctors do work in Kyiv. They carry out teeth whitening so that you both enjoy the results and feel at ease during the process and after.
We use a ZOOM 4 lamp and ZOOM or Beyond gel. Here are the basic steps in ZOOM whitening:
- Your lips, mucous membranes and all soft tissues in your mouth are covered with special protective films.
- Your teeth are covered with the first layer of gel.
- Then protective glasses are put on and the ZOOM 4 lamp is turned on. It shines on the gel for 10-15 minutes.
- Then the second layer is applied and the procedure repeats.
- A total of 2-3 repetitions are performed with the gel coating.
If you need a better brightening effect, an additional ZOOM whitening session may be performed but you should wait for at least 3-4 weeks after the first teeth whitening.
Gradually the effect diminishes as the teeth slowly become dull. To avoid this, we suggest using special mouthguards for home whitening to enhance the effect after whitening in the clinic. They are filled with a special gel and put on before going to bed (overnight). In the morning your smile will already be almost the same as just after using the ZOOM 4 system.

Do i need to be prepared for zoom teeth whitening?
Yes, if you want the procedure to be as comfortable and effective as possible, both your teeth and gums need to be prepared. Before Zoom at DENTART we recommend oral hygiene, removal of plaque, treatment of tooth decay, and additional enamel strengthening:
- during sanation, a comprehensive treatment of gum disease and removal of caries is carried out;
- complex professional hygiene includes cleaning of soft and hard dental plaque (stones). These deposits make whitening difficult: the gel does not get under them and so the teeth may be whitened unevenly;
- enamel strengthening completes the preparation for ZOOM. Our experts advise you special compounds with trace elements, which should be applied to the teeth twice a day for a week. They will strengthen the enamel surface and remineralize it.
Are there any contraindications to ZOOM?
ZOOM 4 is one of the safest and completely harmless methods of whitening both for your teeth and entire body but certain contraindications do exist. The procedure shouldn’t be performed for pregnant and lactating women, and children. Also we postpone the bleaching session in the case of:
- cancer;
- mouth diseases;
- teeth hypersensitivity;
- non-carious dental diseases, such as hypoplasia or enamel erosion.
