Oral hygiene: a comprehensive approach
Home oral care is not just limited to the use of a toothbrush and the right toothpaste. This basic set, for example, will not provide a good cleaning of the interdental space, where bacteria and food particles also actively accumulate and plaque builds up. The choice of supplementary products is quite extensive and includes special brushes, floss, irrigators, rinses, etc.
It is not easy to make sense of all this variety, which is why we offer our patients a service for matching all their oral hygiene needs.
Toothbrush + paste
Brushes can be not only manual, but also electric. They also differ in the type and arrangement of the bristles, allowing you to find the best option without risk of damaging your gums or compromising the quality of cleaning.
A separate type is the monobrush, which is suitable for use on hard-to-reach surfaces, implants, braces, etc.
Toothpastes today are also very varied. They differ in composition, color, and purpose. For example, medical ones (aka professional ones) should not be used all the time: they are prescribed by the dentist for certain indications and the duration of use is clearly specified.

Dental floss, brush or irrigator
In the past, only floss was available for cleaning between the teeth. They are now more diverse, and alternatives to these oral hygiene products are available. You can choose among:
- dental floss, which differ in shape (flat, round, volumetric), presence/absence of infiltration and purpose (there are special flosses for denture care). We tailor our flossing to suit your jaw structure and the width of the gaps between your teeth;
- brushes. They differ primarily in the length of the bristles. The effectiveness of plaque removal between the teeth and in other hard-to-reach places depends on this. If you choose the brush incorrectly, then there are risks of damage not only to the gums, but also to the enamel;
- irrigators. They are universal helpers that remove plaque not only between the teeth, but also from the cheeks, tongue, palate, etc. Cleaning is done by delivering a jet of water through a special nozzle. Irrigators vary in their range of nozzles and supported modes, so they're often even harder to choose than a floss or brush.
Oral care can also include the use of mouthwashes. They, too, are now available in a wide range of formulations and uses, so we can help you choose the best product for your needs.
